To curb the spread of COVID-19, the Indian government imposed a nationwide lockdown on March 25th, 2020. As routines were forced indoors, familiar spaces around me began to take on new roles. Cars sat unused, while terraces became paths for daily movement and recreation. Dust gathered around abandoned office desks, while old tennis racquets - and even a renewed affection for neighbours - were pulled out, dusted off, and brought back into use.
Shot from the balcony outside my room on a rusty old camera, this piece observes the shifts in daily life brought on the locked.
